Join us for our ParentEnrichment Series Thursday, March 9 from 6:00 pm-8:00 pm. During this interactive
the two-hour session, you will journey through the lens of the child, from Infant through Primary. You will start at the beginning, in our Infant classroom, before stepping into the mathematical development of Toddlers in their classroom. Next, your travels will take you to the Primary classroom where you will discover the foundations laid in the first two years and the epic advancement in the third year. The presentation will show how children learn mathematical concepts first through concrete experiences, gain the ability to recognize patterns, move on to use logic and reasoning, and ultimately do abstract mathematical equations. You will actively learn by using the Montessori materials yourselves- just like children do each day! Our teachers will lead this presentation and will provide ideas on how to support this learning at home!

How the Senses Construct the Scientific Mind

Join us for our Parent Education Series Thursday, March 5th from 6:00 pm-8:00 pm

Learn how the experimentation a child does using the Montessori Sensorial materials maps the development of the scientific mind. The Sensorial materials introduce one sense at a time and, as the child refines their awareness and use of a sense, the materials become more complex, needing more senses to complete a task. This begins to build their critical thinking skills curiosity, and use of a hypothesis that will later aid them in using their scientific mind. Children gain the confidence to seek the answers to the questions "why, when, how, and what" when using the Montessori science, geography, and history materials.
